How To: Move A Tree

After adding trees in TreePlotter™ INVENTORY, a tree might be in the wrong location. To move a tree in your TreePlotter application, follow the simple steps below. Moving trees can be done on a mobile or desktop device.

Prerequisites:

Steps:

  1. Log into TreePlotter
  2. Find the tree you are looking to move.
    • NOTE: Pan the map using your mouse or fingers over the area where the tree is currently located and where you wanting to move the tree.
  3. Click on the ‘MOVE’ button in the top right corner
  4. To move the tree:
    • Mobile: Select the point you wish to move, and tap the map with your finger or stylus in the new location you would like to move it to.
    • Desktop: When moving trees on the desktop, simply toggle the move button in the upper right corner and click and drag the point to its new location.
  5. When done moving your tree, click the ‘MOVE’ button again to turn off moving. If the ‘MOVE’ button is left on, then you will continue to move each tree you click on.

Known Limitations:

  • The Move tool can only move one tree at a time.
  • If you are moving the tree to an area that is not focused on your map view, then the screen will not pan with the tree you are trying to move. We recommend having the initial tree location and final destination centered on your map before starting.
